Merseycats Roadshow Vauxhalls club Ellesmere Port The time is 7.30pm Saturday October 28th,Carol and the Memories have just arrived at Vauxhalls social club in Ellesmere Port , Walking into the club the first thing we notice is how many people are already seated and waiting for the night to begin. The memories where timed to perform at 8.30, we where getting a little concerned as the time was getting on and one of our lead guitarists had not arrived , we got a call from him to tell us that he had taken ill and would not be coming, We asked Phil Ford and George Eccles from Wheels on Fire to stand in and play with us, nobody guessed what had happened and the set which included Secret love,Sorrow,and House of the rising sun went down fantasically and we came off stage to what can only be described as riotious applause. The result of the very successful night was for the band to get three dates to play at the Cavern, 3rd December,28th January and 4th March added to this Carol and the Memories are to be interviewed on 15th April by Alan Schroeder at Fort Perch Rock New Brighton, So all in all a very good time was had by Carol,and the Memories plus two guest guitarists. .By way of a bonus we believe that we helped Merseycats to raise nearly £2000 for Claire House along with the likes of Lee Curtis (with Brian Jones guesting on Sax), Vince Earl Attraction, Farons Flamingo's. The Lackies,Searchin Wheels on Fire. and compere Dave Jamo.
